TRANSPORT WITHIN THE CITY

Bus no. 16 connects the University campus (Panepistimioupoli) to the city centre. The bus route from Ioannina starts from the Lake area known as Molos then continues along Averoff Street into the Central Square or Platia. From there it continues along the main avenue known as Dodoni through the residential area, Sismoplikta and onto the University.

There are frequent bus stops along this route and between 8.00am and 9.00pm there is a bus approximately every 12 minutes. Students may obtain a "student pass" which entitles them to discounted bus fares. The pass also entitles them to cheaper tickets for trains and boats and entrance to some museums, theatres, concerts and cinemas.
